Course Overview
The Old Course at Vilamoura, one of the Algarve’s most prestigious golf courses, is a timeless classic that has delighted players since its opening in 1969. Designed by Frank Pennink, this 18-hole, par-73 course is often referred to as the "Grande Dame" of Algarve golf, offering a harmonious blend of challenging play and natural beauty.
Set amidst rolling terrain and mature umbrella pines, the Old Course features narrow tree-lined fairways, strategically placed bunkers, and subtle undulations that require precision and thoughtful shot-making. The par-4 4th hole, with its dogleg right and carefully protected green, is a standout challenge. The course’s tranquil atmosphere, enhanced by its well-preserved natural setting, provides a serene yet demanding golfing experience.
